Zone 01 / For the thorough

Frequently asked, honestly answered.

We are a Microsoft Copilot organisation. Does that rule us out?

No, and we won’t pretend Copilot is the ceiling.

Copilot is the status quo in most corporates, and it is a work tool with governance-first design: useful for systematising prompts, limited in the agency it gives people to actually build. We work with what you have, we show you the delta to frontier tools and agentic workflows on your own work, and we help you build the business case for guided pilots with red lines, if the delta convinces you.

Do we need a full AI rollout before working with you?

No. You don’t need a rollout, you need proof. We find legally compatible ways of working within your constraints, from working inside your existing stack up to pre-processing scripts that filter out anything that must never reach an external model. Constraint is a design input, not a blocker.

Do you build software for us?

Inside the Residency sandbox, yes, and the artefacts are yours. Standalone application development and production automation are not what we sell: capability transfer is. The mark of success is your team building without us.

Is this training?

No. Training transfers knowing-that, and AI is about to make knowing-that free. We work in the other three ways of knowing, on your real work, at team level, because AI adoption compounds in teams, not individuals.

What is the jagged frontier?

The line between what AI does brilliantly and what it fails at is not smooth, it is jagged, and it moves. Research shows consultants using AI inside the frontier dramatically outperform, and blindly trusting it outside the frontier makes them worse. Learning to sense the frontier on your own work is a core outcome of every engagement.

What’s the catch with the free hour?

There isn’t one, but there is a doctrine: we demonstrate for free, we intervene for a fee. The Drawing Board and the Walkthrough are demonstrations, they show you the gap on your own problem, and they cost us little because we prepare nothing and pretend nothing. If what you see convinces you, the interventions are where the capability gets built. If it doesn’t, you’ve lost an hour and gained a clearer picture. We also host The Open House, a public session, roughly monthly, dates announced on LinkedIn.

Why “Challenger House”?

Because both words are load-bearing. Challengers name what everyone knows and nobody says. And a house is where the tacit knowledge sits in the attic, the shadow sits in the basement, and the rebuild has an owner and an architect. It is not a metaphor we decorate with. It is the practice.
